Villebois-Lavalette is most famed for its impressive 10th century chateau that was modified and fortified in the 12th and 13th centuries.
The castle played host to pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela. In addition is the Church of Saint Romain, the 17th century market place and a beautiful 19th century fountain. You can take guided tours of the castle and its village.
The Dordogne is considered a place with some of the finest food and wine France has to offer. Hailed as a place of wonderful farms and farm food, the Perigord area is foodie’s paradise!
